About
I’m Zimbabwean, but I no longer live there - I left the country in 1988, and now live in Ireland. That doesn’t mean I don’t care about what happens there, though, and I’ve been following events there, particularly since the 2000 referendum, with dismay, as the country I still consider home has been torn to shreds. The 2008 elections seemed to be the best chance in a decade to begin the process of putting things right - but as I write this, a week after the poll and still without an announcement of the winner, it’s looking as though that chance may be lost, or stolen.
I started this ‘blog’ with a post to my personal page shortly after the election, expecting to make 2 or 3 posts before the results were tied up. That didn’t happen, and so here we are. I don’t know what I’ll do with this site once the elections are resolved - I guess we’ll just have to see what happens…
